Lobby or reception in Grandium Hotel Prague
With an expansive reception, 3 enormous breakfast rooms with four coffee machines in, and a bar in the middle, this compact looking hotel has impressively large shared spaces. Our twin room was a good size with quality beds and the generous, newly refurbished bathroom. The breakfast is the main feature - there is an egg station where you can get omelettes made to order, or have your eggs fried any way you want, them and there is a dedicated maker of fresh waffles working away and stacking them up for you take as many as you want. The coffee is from one of those machines, but it is one of the better brews that I have experienced. The staff are super friendly and there are so many of them. In a throwback to 20 years ago, we had an elderly staff member insist on showing us to our room. That seemed a little bit over the top as we had wheels on our cases! We went in the November low season and got a very good and competitive price considering this hotel is linked by one of the famous Czech passageways leading directly to Wenceslas Square itself. Almost over the road is a wonderful restaurant – Vytopna railway restaurant, “Steam” Where the burgers, chips and beers are delivered in this enormous restaurant… by model trains pulling flatbed waggons. Wonderful. We also tried the new Popeye Louisiana chicken place, but this was a little disappointing - the chicken was on the dry side and the coating was somewhat oily. Recommended places to go are: Lokal, (traditional simple Czech pub food done very well) U medvidku (a famous pub, restaurant and brewery that must be visited) Lucerna café (like going back in time) U Zlateho Tygra (Where the Czech intellectuals go) Na Schlodku, (proper old style basic pub) and one crazy and amazing suggestion – Only 5 minutes away – LET L410 Flight Simulator with flight instruction - A real flight simulator and an hour’s instruction – Book it and go – You will not regret it. Overall – Yes – Recommended.

Very nice selection of breakfast, hot and cold. Omelettes and waffles made on request. Great location, very central and yet very quiet. Very close to trams, buses and subway, and only 10 min walk to Prague central station where you can take the Airport bus directly to the airport. 100 CZK per person, takes about 30 min, very smooth. Tickets are purchased from the driver. About 5 min walk to Old town, lots of shops and restaurants close by and everything is within walking distance. Rooms are big and spacious, nice size bathroom, very comfy beds! We will definately book Grandium next time in Prague. :)

Great hotel. We visited at Christmas and thought the price rate was decent. Staff at the desk were pleasant and friendly. Location is excellent. Not far from the train station and a metro stop and within walking distance of the main tourist areas. Room was clean and reasonably spacious for what I assume was their smallest of rooms. Breakfast was excellent as well with plenty to choose from. Great place to stay, highly recommend staying here if visiting Prague.

The staff was very friendly and helpful even with a special request I made. The check-in was a breeze. The room had very good WiFi and was spacious, with a very nice and large bathroom. Good air conditioning. The breakfast was excellent. Very crispy bacon was served :) The location is extremely good, you can walk from the train station to the hotel if you want, it is like 2 blocks away. You have two metro lines very close too. Would stay again.

The hotel is in a great location, steps away from the large masses of people and within about 15 minutes to many places of interest The room was comfortable, but basic, not fancy. The coffee machine and kettle were nice to have. The sheets were top quality, the bed comfortable. The room was very clean. Reception spoke excellent English, so communication wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was excellent and varied with hot and cold foods.
